Atari®, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and producers of interactive entertainment, today released new information about Ataribox, a product that brings gaming and more to the living room. The launch also signals a return by Atari to creating its own hardware in a broad eco-system of accessories and content. Since we announced Ataribox three months ago, we have received more than 90,000 registrations on Ataribox.com.

Ataribox has a unique modern design, influenced by iconic Atari products such as the Atari 2600. Technology wise, it is powered by an AMD customized processor with Radeon Graphics technology. Ataribox will offer games and more: bringing a full PC experience to the TV, it will also include streaming, applications, social, browsing, and music.

Ataribox will run a Linux OS, with a user interface customized for the TV. Ataribox will launch with a large back-catalog of Atari classic games, and current titles from a range of studios. Additional details on content and partnerships will be released at a later date. Given the open nature of the OS, players will also be able to access and play compatible games from other content platforms.

“With Ataribox, we wanted to create an open system, a killer product where people can game, stream and browse with as much freedom as possible. Atari games and content will be available as well as games and content from other providers,” said Fre d Chesnais, Atari Chief Executive Officer. “We also wanted to launch Ataribox with our community, and reward our fans with exclusive early access, special editions, and include them as active participants in the product rollout.”

Ataribox will first be made available via the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform this fall, with targeted global launch in Spring 2018. The expected price range will be $249-$299 USD depending on specific editions and memory configurations.

“People are used to the flexibility of a PC, but most connected TV devices have closed systems and content stores. Ataribox is an open system, and while our user interface will be easy to use, people will also be free to access and customize the underlying OS,” said Feargal Mac, Ataribox General Manager. “We’ve chosen to launch Ataribox with Indiegogo given their focus on delivering technology products, and their strong international presence in over 200 countries, allowing us to reach and involve as many Atari fans around the world as possible.”

Atari VCS™ Rebooted:
Game. Stream. Connect. Like Never Before.

We've been busy these last few months further refining the home gaming and entertainment system we have always wanted.

Welcome to Atari VCS.

Check out some of the great press coverage, including new images of the VCS, plus its Classic Joystick and Modern Controller.

"Atari revealed the system's new name alongside the start of this year's

Game Developers Conference, where the company will show off the Atari

VCS along with prototypes of its classic-style joystick and more modern

controller.
- Gamespot

"The first controller is a joystick reminiscent of the Atari 2600's, while the second resembles a modern Xbox controller, complete with asymmetrical analog sticks and ABXY buttons."
- IGN

"...the device will not only play classic Atari titles,
but it will also play modern PC games."
- The Verge

Just like the

original VCS, we’ve packed this system with all the power needed to

bring a new kind of home computer experience right to your living room -

while staying true to the classic entertainment heritage that Atari was

built on.

We will be announcing our exclusive pre-order date for the Atari VCS

Hey @ataribox this looks super awesome, can't wait to play! #ataribox #retrorevival https://www.ataribox.com/

Atari VCS™ Pre-Sale Opens May 30th on Indiegogo!
Featuring The Limited Atari VCS Collector's Edition
Special Retro-Inspired Wood Front and Certificate of Authenticity

Early Bird packages Start at $199 for Atari VCS Onyx
Updated Classic Joystick and Modern Controller Also Available to Order

Enjoy the Linux-powered Atari VCS to play, create or port your own games and multimedia content.

Many popular modern titles will be playable on Atari VCS.
As an homage to our past, every Atari VCS includes
the Atari Vault of more than 100 classic games.
Play all-time arcade and home entertainment favorites like Asteroids®, Centipede®, Breakout®, Missile Command®, Gravitar® and Yars’ Revenge®

A completely modern connected device, the new VCS was designed in California by Atari. The company is partnered with AMD, who provides the VCS custom processor with Radeon Graphics Technology. The Atari VCS platform will offer support for 4K resolution, HDR and 60FPS content, onboard and expandable storage options, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, as well as USB 3.0 support. A complete list of Atari VCS product specs will be posted at the time of pre-sale.

Atari appreciates your support and intense curiosity about VCS games and content, hardware specifications, production timelines and other key information. We're confident that we are putting the right pieces in place for a successful product and launch!

Lest einfach mal hier: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/03/2 ... empty_box/

You’d have to scroll all the way back to Twinfinite’s initial report back in 2017 to find the first rumblings of a new Atari console. It was officially revealed a year after in 2018 before numerous delays made its out-of-left-field launch seem all the more unlikely. But now we’ve official word that it certainly is still coming, set to launch later this fall for $399. Early adopters get a $10 discount for pre-ordering the bundle.

The Atari VCS 800 is now available for pre-order from Atari, Gamestop, and Walmart. It’s to be sold as part of a bundle that also includes a Wireless Classic Joystick, a Modern Controller, and a free copy of Atari Vault of 100 classic arcade and console games.

According to the Walmart pre-order page, the console will ship on Friday, November 27th. The last date to pre-order the bundles for their current prices is July 31st.

The console features a custom AMD Raven Ridge APU with Vega 3 graphics, paired with 8 GB DDR4 ram, and 32 GB eMMC internal flash storage. The device runs a custom Linux OS but also supports Linux, Windows, Steam OS, or Chrome OS if booting from an external drive.

As for connectivity, it features 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. There’s an HDMI 2.0 port, gigabit Ethernet port, and quad USB 3.1 connectors.

Full specs via Hexus are as follows:

Dimensions: 11.6” x 5.9” x 1.9” (Approx.)
Weight: 3lbs. (Approx.)
Materials: Plastic, Metal, Wood
Operating System: Atari Custom Linux OS (Linux Kernel)
APU: AMD Raven Ridge 2
GPU: Ryzen
Storage: 32GB eMMC internal, unlimited external USB HD/stick, cloud (subscription required)
RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable)
Compatible Systems: Linux, Windows, Steam OS, Chrome OS
Power: Low TDP architecture – Less Heat & Noise
Wireless Connections: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4/5GHz, Bluetooth 4.0
Wired Connections: HDMI 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, 4x USB 3.1
USB Ports: 2x front, 2x rear
External Inputs: Classic Joystick, Modern Controller, Microphone, Others TBD
Mouse & Keyboard Support: Yes, USB or Bluetooth
4K Video w/ HDCP 2.2 Integration: Yes
Internet Connection Required: Not for classic gaming but required to access all features
Moving forward, there’s apparently a second, lower-powered version of the console called the Atari VCS 400 coming at some point for $249.99. Expect it to come with only 4 GB of RAM.

Mucho teuer :D Mucchhooooo.

Also ich bin da erstmal raus. :D

B. hier
https://www.anime-illusion.de/was-wurde ... -the-game/
